Court action was taken 18 Feb., 1814 against John by Anna seeking payment for his illegitimate children. He apparently also had an illegitimate child with another woman named Lacey Williams. Her court action was 23-25 May, 1817. He married a Christina Halloway 23 Feb., 1821 and had four known children with her. Samuel posted bonds for the children of his sons John and William that they fathered out of wedlock. Samuel's will names only John, Sally and Ruthey as children.
